Shut the box is a great way to teach the manipulation of numbers using operators like addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. It might even help players work on their risk management skills. The gameplay is quite simple. Players throw the two dice and then they must add the two numbers that are facing up. Then, slide the corresponding tiles that equal the sum. The aim is to use up as many slides as possible before the game is over so that you have the lowest penalty score. Numbers left uncovered by a slide after the game is over are counted as a penalty. This educational game can be played alone or with 2 – 4 players. For different versions of the game, try using different operators for more strategy. Take a gamble and shut the box while you still can!
